The Black Cat has been around since 1987. It took the place of La Creperie, which was closed down in 1983 after a fire and notorious drug bust. The area had been gutted, and the restaurant was restored with a French Cabaret theme, and named the new restaurant Le Chat Noir, The Black Cat. The current Black Cat was renovated in 2013 and continues to be a fun, casual gathering spot for neighbors, families and visitors to enjoy great drinks, local beers and American bistro-style food.
